Coloring Your Hair
There are many reasons why people change the color of their hair. If you use dyes to color your hair, you have to make sure that you really know what to do. You have to choose the right brand that won’t cause any trouble on your hair and scalp. Spend some time in doing some research about it, especially if you intend to do this on your own.
The best thing that you can do is to ask someone, like a professional or somebody who has experience in coloring hair. Make sure that you watch them and ask questions about what they are doing and why. This way, you will have greater confidence with the task at hand once you are ready to start.
To help you, here’s a quick and simple guide on how to color your hair.
- If you want to try a light color but you have dark hair, you may first want to bleach your hair. The process of bleaching helps in drying up the hair so that the color will easily grasp in it. You have to follow the guide that will come with the bleaching product. After this stage, you need to gather the materials needed to start coloring your hair. Aside from the dye or dyes, depending on your preference, you need a plastic bowl where you will place the mixture and the applicator brush. You also have to be equipped with protective gloves. Follow the instructions carefully. You can experiment with the colors, but definitely not with how you put the products on your hair.
- Protect your neck by draping a towel around it. Choose something old for this purpose because it will absorb the colors. You may not be able to use it again. Put on the gloves and begin with the application. You have to make sure that you cover all areas evenly. You may want to ask help to apply the colors on the areas that are hard to deal with like near the ears and hairline and the back of your head.
- Wait 15 minutes before you rinse off your hair with water. Shampoo and apply conditioner on your hair, two times each; rinse it off and towel dry.
