Hirsutism

Hirsutism is when a woman has excessive body and facial hair. This is not something a woman should be worried except that in the society, a woman is not expected to have any excessive hair except on her head. This condition is inherited. Symptoms includes having a more muscular body, shrinking size of breast, irregularity in menstruation, acnes and having deeper voice. If you observe it well, you will notice that the symptoms are changing the attributes of the woman into something manly.

It is because this kind of condition is caused by an abnormal increase in acquisition of androgens or the male hormones. This condition might also be a cause of too much sensitivity of hair follicles to male hormones. It is just that even doctors do not know why this kind of thing happens.

So the first thing to do when you experience the symptoms given above is to consult your doctor so you would be sure about your condition. Now, if you have Hirsutism, you might ask yourself and other people on how to eliminate excess hair. As a matter of fact there are several ways to do it. For sure, the first thing that you would do is shaving it. It is okay but too much shaving is not good because you can damage your skin. So make sure that you would apply some moisturizer on it to keep the moisture and avoid dryness that might cause another disease.

Other ways are bleaching, plucking and waxing. And if you have enough budgets, you can undergo hair removal through laser and electrolysis. Just keep in mind that this would cost you a lot since one treatment is not enough and you have to come back. Another thing is you should be ready for are the side effects such as skin darkening or redness.

Just remember to consult your doctor before undergoing any kind of operation or treatment. Hirsutism will not put you in a life and death situation but it is fine to have treatments and medications if this is what would make you comfortable of your own skin.
